Community Description

Lampasas is the seat of Lampasas County.  Located in the middle of Texas and the northern gateway to the Texas Hill Country, Lampasas is about 30 minutes from Fort Hood, and about an hour out of the state capital, Austin.   The population was 6,681 at the 2010 census.

Features and Attractions

  • Spring Ho Festival … held in July, the festival includes a Beauty Pageant, Talent Contest, County Fair, Carnival, Dance Contest, Arts & Crafts Fair, a 10k, 5k and 1 mile run, a BBQ Cook off and much more.
  • Hancock Park Golf Course … an 18 hole municipal golf course which has a fully stocked pro shop.
  • Lampasas County Museum … Dedicated the preservation and display of Lampasas County history and culture.
  • Hanna Springs Sculpture Garden … dedicated to “Expanding opportunities for everyone to experience the arts.”
